Identifying your CloudOps Version
This page provides guidance on identifying the CloudOps for Kubernetes version used in several different cases.
The Current CloudOps for Kubernetes Version
You can use the following approaches to identify your CloudOps for Kubernetes version.
3.4.0
and higher
CloudOps for Kubernetes release Starting with CloudOps for Kubernetes Release 3.4.0
, you can use the below options to identify the CloudOps for Kubernetes version.
version.txt
file
The Locate and open your copy of the cloud-ops-kubernetes
source code project. In the project, identify the branch that you used to setup and configure your CloudOps for Kubernetes cluster. The version.txt
file in the root of the repository indicates the version of CloudOps for Kubernetes code that is in the branch. For example, if the file contains 3.4.0
, the branch is based on CloudOps for Kubernetes release 3.4.0
.
The Jenkins server
The version of CloudOps for Kubernetes used to configure the Jenkins server is shown in the Jenkins user interface, under the Jenkins Related Jobs
view.
- Using your web browser, navigate to the Jenkins server. You can find the default login credentials at Login Credentials.
- On the main page, click the Jenkins tab to open the
Jenkins Related Jobs
view.
The CloudOps for Kubernetes version number is shown in the description, and will look similar to the sample below.
This Jenkins server was configured using Elastic Path CloudOps for Kubernetes release "3.4.0".
3.3.x
and below
CloudOps for Kubernetes release To identify the CloudOps for Kubernetes version in release 3.3.x
and earlier, determine which branch of the cloud-ops-kubernetes
source code project that you are using.
The CloudOps for Kubernetes version used to configure infrastructure
Starting with CloudOps for Kubernetes release 3.4.0
, a new AWS tag named elasticpath.com/configured-by/cloudops-release
is added to most AWS resources when they are newly created or reconfigured using CloudOps for Kubernetes out-of-the-box tooling. Infrastructure created or configured prior to release 3.4.0
will not have this tag.
